Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping national identity grounded in the values of Pancasila. However, the teaching of Pancasila Education at SDN Jember Lor 03 still relies on conventional textbooks and has not optimally integrated the surrounding environment as a contextual learning resource. As a result, students have a limited understanding of regional characteristics, local potential, and the application of Pancasila values in their daily lives. This study aims to develop a digital textbook integrating the industrial agricultural potential of Jember Regency that is valid, practical, and effective in improving fifth-grade students’ understanding. This study employed the Borg and Gall development model, conducted through eight stages. The developed product is a digital textbook that integrates Jember’s industrial agricultural commodities, including tobacco, coffee, cocoa, and edamame, as contextual learning resources. The results indicate that the digital textbook is valid based on evaluations by material, media, and language experts. Its practicality is reflected in positive student responses and increased engagement during the learning process through interactive features. Furthermore, the effectiveness test at a significance level of 0.05 showed that the t-value (3,332) exceeded the t-table value (2,006), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the developed digital textbook is proven to improve students’ learning outcomes, understanding of regional characteristics, and awareness of the application of Pancasila values in daily life.
