Abstract
Aedes aegypti L. is the primaty vector for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. Since
synthetic insecticidies poes environmental risk, exploring eco-friendly alternatives
like combined extracts of pletekan (Ruellia tuberosa) leaves and soursop (Annona
muricata) leaves is essensial. This study aimed to evaluated the larvicidal toxicity
of this combination and develop the findings into a popular scientific book. This
experimental research followed a Completely Randomsizec Design (CRD). Larvae
were exposed to five concentrations (75,150, 300, 600, and 1200 ppm) with four
replicants. Mortality was recorded after 48 hours and analyzed using probit
analysis to determine the LC50 value. The findings demonstrated that the
combined extract significantly increased larva mortality. The calculated LC50
value was 261,442 ppm (95% Cl: 175.406 – 340.227 ppm). Furthermore the
developed populer scientific book was categorized “Highly Feasible” based on
expert validation. The synergistic combination of pletekan (Ruellia tuberosa) and
soursop (Annona muricata) leaves is a potent natural biolarvacide. Moreover, the
resulting popular scientific book serves as a valid and affective educational
medium or community based mosquito control.
