Abstract

Dynamic electricity, especially two-loop circuits, is one of the physics topics that students find difficult to understand because it involves both physics concepts and mathematical thinking skills. Interviews with physics teachers revealed that students' difficulties stem from unsystematic problem-solving steps and limited use of solution methods, which result in low learning outcomes. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design to determine the effect of the matrix inverse method on student learning outcomes and mathematical thinking skills. The research subjects consisted of an experimental class that used the matrix inverse method and a kontrol class that used the substitution-elimination method. Data were collected through tests and analyzed using the Independent Sample T- Test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class achieved better learning outcomes and mathematical thinking skills. Thus, the matrix inverse method is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the material on dynamic electricity in two-loop circuits.
