Abstract

This study analyzes the role of the social capital synergy view within the Rengganis Forest Farmer Group (KTH) regarding the quality standardization of Rengganis Coffee in Pakis Village, Panti District, Jember Regency. Utilizing a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through observation, semistructured interviews, and documentation, employing purposive sampling for informant selection. Data validity was verified using triangulation. The results indicate that the quality standardization of Rengganis Coffee was successfully achieved by optimizing three dimensions of social capital. Bonding social capital is realized through daily mutual trust, cultivation knowledge transfer, voluntary contributions, and mutual cooperation (gotong royong) in road repairs. Bridging social capital is manifested through partnerships with universities for organic fertilizer training, festival participation, and comparative studies between farmer groups. The central axis of success lies in the synergy view, specifically the formal partnership with the private sector (OFI Indonesia) through the implementation of international 4C and Rainforest Alliance certifications that promote environmentally friendly practices, ensure occupational safety, and enforce gender equality. This synergy is further strengthened by government support (CDK Jember) in the form of legal management rights for Community Forestry (HKm), the provision of Productive Economic Equipment (AEP), and access to People's Business Credit (KUR). The implication of this institutional synergy has successfully guaranteed export market stability, surged the group's annual premium bonus from IDR 88 million to over IDR 532 million, and significantly improved the standard of living and socio-economic welfare of farmers in Pakis Village.
