Abstract
This reserch aimed to know: l) the shatery in teaching history
througb contextual teaching and leaming, 2) students' appreciation towards
the teaching of the Philosoptty of History. In tluee-cycle clasroom action
research conducted at History Study Prograr5 FKIP, Jember University it
was found that both students'a ppreciationa s well as their achievemenct ould
be improved.
