ANALISIS PENCEGAHAN KEBAKARAN (FIRE PREVENTION) SEBAGAI UPAYA PENGENDALIAN KEBAKARAN PT. PJB UBJ O&M PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA UAP PAITON KABUPATEN PROBOLINGGO

Abstract

Fire is oxidation reaction between oxygen and heat that can inflict a loss of property, injury and death to people. In steam power plant, fire is one that must be maintained as the process of operating the plant requires a flammable material and exploded. Many kinds of work can be at risk of causing fire such as welding and grinding in dangerous areas. The general objective of this research was analyzing of fire prevention in an efford to fire control PT. PJB UBJ O&M Paiton Steam Power Plant of Probolinggo District. The type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The determination of informer is an informant who participate directly of safety and health planning about fire prevention. The focus of this research is analyzing about fire prevention such as policy, organization, procedures, identification, assessment, training, inspection, fire protection and fire control in the company. This research used technique data with depth interview, observation, documentation and triangulation. The result of the study showed that the company had been doing fire prevention efforts to suppress the severity and extent of possible fire hazard by implementing a wide range of fire control. Fire control is any actions taken to manage risks for reduced the potentials fire such as engineering control, administrative and protective equipment. However in the practice, company requires improvement of the smoking policy and the loss of complete hydrants system. So, the company needs to conduct business improvement by enforcing existing regulations, fire protection system normalization, performs emergency response simulation and integrated safeguards system to ensure all equipment fire fighting in top condition.
