Improving The learning Activity and The Skill of Developing Physics Instructional Media to The Students of Physics Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Jember University Even Semester Year 2007-2008
Abstract
This study was the classroom action research about the increasing the activity and
skill of developing physics instructional media to the students of Physics Education Program
Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Jember University Even Semester Year 2007-
2008 through Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). The study aimed to increase
students‘ learning activity and to improve their skill in developing high school physics
instructional media through STAD. This study was conducted in the subject of physics
instructional media, even semester year 2007-2008. This research used two cycles, in wich
each cycle had four stages of activities: The planning of the action, the implementation of the
action, class observation and evaluation, and reflection. The action given was teaching media
creation skill through STAD. Class observation was carried out to observe students‘ learning
activity (classroom situation) and process evaluation was done to evaluate the students‘
work (skill in developing high school physics instructional media). In cycle I, the mean score
students‘ activity was 63 (low category) and the mean score students‘ skill in developing high
school physics instructional media was 60 (low category). In cycle II, the mean score
students‘ activity was 82 (high category) and the mean score students‘ skill in developing
high school physics instructional media was 78 (high category).
