Perbedaan Sikap Ibu terhadap Pemberian ASI Eksklusif pada Tipe Nuclear dan Extended Family di Area Agrikultur Kecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
The attitude of the mother towards exclusive breastfeeding is basis for the formation of exclusive breastfeeding behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in maternal attitudes towards exclusive breastfeeding in the type of nuclear and extended family. This research is a comparative descriptive method using cross sectional and uses 179 samples with cluster random sampling. The measuring instrument used in this study was the Maternal Attitudes Towards Breastfeeding Questionnaire. The results showed that there were significant differences in the attitude of mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding in the type of nuclear and extended family (p-value = 0.001). Most respondents' family type is nuclear family type, that is 99 respondents (55.3%) and the middle value of the mother's attitude towards exclusive breastfeeding is 27, the value indicates that the mother's attitude approaches a favorable attitude when viewed from the final results in range 11-33. The results of this study prove that there are factors that influence specifically a grandmother who can influence the mother's attitude. The support provided by grandma has a significant influence. A grandmother already has experience in caring for babies and is the person closest to the mother in helping to take care of all the needs of the baby. The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in the attitude of mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding.
