Hubungan Peran Perawat Educator Dengan Tingkat Kecemasan Pasien Pre Operasi Katarak di Rsd Balung Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Patients with pre cataract surgery experienced anxiety related to the surgery they
will undergo. Anxiety can affect the results of surgery. One of factors that influence
preoperative patient anxiety is access to information and the first experience of the
patient undergoing surgery. The role of nurse educator is related with giving
information to patients about the actions that will be taken by the patient. This study
aimed to analyze the relationship between the role of nurse educator and the anxiety
level of patients pre cataract surgery at Balung Hospital in Jember Regency. This
study used an observational research design with a cross-sectional approach. A
total of 33 respondents were obtained by accidental sampling technique. Data
collection was carried out by giving a questionnaire of the role nurse educator and
questionnaire Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data analysis used
Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. The results
showed that there was a significant relationship between the role of nurse educator
and the level of anxiety (p value = 0.002; r = -0.517). There is a moderate and
negative correlation which means that the higher the role of the educator nurse
then the lower the patient's anxiety level. Therefore giving educators to the patients
can reduce level anxiety of pre cataract surgery
