Strategies In Managing Vocational High School Students’ Misbehaviors In English Teaching And Learning Process : A Case Study
Abstract
The role of teacher concerns not only with the material or the subject to be
learned but also how to manage the teaching learning process running as the
expectation. In fact, very often the teaching learning process is interrupted by students’
misbehavior. It becomes the common issue among teachers since its existences disrupt
the students’ own learning as well as the whole class.
In relation to that issue, classroom management itself is not taught in the
institution where the student teachers are prepared. Consequently, they are lack of skill
in managing misbehavior. Some of them apply strategies as what their senior high
school teachers did which may not be relevant to the characteristic of the students
nowadays. Also, the teacher has to face different misbehaviors every year.
This study is conducted to give detailed description about types of students’
misbehavior that the English teacher faces and how the English teacher manages the
students’ misbehavior. Additionally, it is aimed to know the students’ view about their
English teacher management strategies as a reflection for the teachers.
