This experimental study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of using video on the tenth grade students’ listening comprehension achievement at MAN 1 Jember. The population of the research was four classes of the tenth grade at MAN 1 Jember X MIPA 1 to X MIPA 4. From the result of homogeneity test by using ANOVA, It was known that the population was homogeneous. Thus, researcher chose two classes as participants and both classes were chosen by using lottery. Class X MIPA 1 as was control class and X MIPA 3 was as experimental class. The X MIPA 1 was taught by using audio and X MIPA 3 was taught by using video. The total number of the participants was 60 students, 35 students were control class (X MIPA) 1 and 25 students were experimental class (X MIPA 3). The primary data of the research was collected from the students’ scores of listening comprehension achievement test, while the supporting data were gained through interview and documentation. The listening comprehension achievement test was collected from the post-test which was done to compare both the experimental and the control classes after the treatment. Then, the scores were analyzed by using Independent samples t-test in SPSS computing system. Based on the result of the analysis, the value of significance was 0.001 which was lower than 0.05 with the significance interval 95%. Thus, it could be concluded that the use of video affected the students’ listening comprehension achievement. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis formulated: “there is a significant effect of using video on Senior High School students’ listening comprehension achievement” was accepted.en_US
