dc.description.abstractThe struggle of politics is mostly done by minority ethnic, including Indian minority in Malaysia. The demonstration of Indian minority on November 25, 2007 is a form of political struggle by Indian minority by doing political action in a form of “voice”. This thesis aims to scrutinize the political struggle of Indian minority in Malaysia, the goals, the forms and the outputs of their political struggle. The grievances on political, economic and social and cultural rights are the goals of their political struggle. Moreover, the government’s New Economic Policy (NEP) benefiting only Malay had created discrimination and maintain interracial inequalities especially for Indian minority. They pursue them by doing political actions through “loyalty” and “voice”. In the end, the outputs of their political struggle results in changing policies which were previously against them. The Malaysian government’s policy changes regarding Indian minority reflects how actually the Indian political struggle had given some significant impacts to influence government’s decision and the goals of the struggle could eventually be reached.en_US
