Peningkatan Kapabilitas Militer Republik Rakyat Tiongkok dan Stabilitas Asia Timur 2009-2011 (The Increasing Military Capabilities of The People Republic of Tiongkok and The Stability In East Asia 2009-2011)

Abstract

The increasing military capability of China would trigger armament in East Asia region. On the one hand, China’s increasing military capability is part of its national interest. On the other hand, China’s capability made military balance in East Asia threatened. Unfortunately, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and even USA see that the China’s intention is unacceptable. Then they also built up their military capabilities. The purpose of this research is trying to explain the dynamic military built up in East Asia region. It is using descriptive method as its analysis technique. The result shows that China’s increasing military power, which is followed by the neighbors in East Asia and also the USA, immediately encourages new military balance in East Asia region.
