dc.description.abstract | Stunting is a chronic condition characterized by the inhibition of linear growth of
children which is influenced by one of the factors is parental feeding style.
Parental feeding style is a behavior feeding their children which is done with
consideration or without consideration. The purpose of this study was to find out
a description of parental feeding style stunting children ages 24 60 months in
Sumberjambe Public Health Center, Jember Regency. This research method used
descriptive correlational. The sample in the study was 188 mothers who had
children aged 24-60 months in Jambearum Village, Sumberjambe Subdistrict,
Jember Regency who were taken used purposive sampling technique. Data
collection tools in this study were parenting feeding styles questionnaire
consisting of 24 questions with a likert scale. The results of the study showed that
the parenting style of children aged 24-60 months applied by mothers in the
Puskesmas Sumberjamabe work area of Jember was a type of neglect parenting
(51.6%), democratic parenting (35.6%). Children who are cared for with
democratic parenting get attention regarding food and are given the opportunity
to choose their own food. But Children with neglect parenting in the area has
stunted children, because this upbringing causes children to be neglected or
neglected in fulfilling food intake that is suitable for their children's needs.
Therefore, stunting children need to be given the right parenting that is by
democratic and authoritarian parenting because these two parental feeding are
complementary parenting styles, both parents' roles and children's comfort. | en_US |
