dc.description.abstract | A simple, sensitive, selective and specific, precise and accurate TLC
densitometry method has been developed and validated for determination of
curcuma xanthorrhyza extracts. The method employed TLC silica gel 60 F254 as the
stationary phase and using chloroform : ethanol: glacial acetic acids (94:5:1 v/v/v)
as mobile phase. Quantitative evaluation was performed by measuring the
absorbance of the analyte spot at 424 nm. The linear regression data for the
calibration plots of curcumin showed good linear relationship with r = 0,9967 in
the concentration range 30-120 ppm of curcuminoid. The minimum detectable
amounts were found to be 58,7ng curcumin/spot and the limits of quantitation were
found to be 169,2 ng curcumin/spot. Repeatability precision, as RSD was 0,107%
and Intermediet precision, as RSD was 0,14%. This TLC Densitometry method is
selective and specific, precise, and can be used for routine analysis of curcumin. | en_US |
