PENGARUH OVERLAP SUDU DAN PENAMBAHAN FIN PADA ROTOR SAVONIUS TIPE-L
Abstract
The depletion of fossil energy sources is an important issue at this time
primarily as a fuel source power generation and its impacts on the environment and
global climate change.
Reviewing the above problems, we need a source of alternative energy to
reduce dependence on fossil energy sources, especially as fuel power generation for
domestic use. Electrical energy can be generated from several alternative energy
sources alternative power available in nature, one of which wind energy. Natural
conditions that are potentially generate winds which fluctuate from year to year, it is
possible to use wind turbines generating electricity on a small scale.
Savonius rotor type L is a type of rotor for vertical axis wind turbine and the
simplest version of the anemometer. Savonius rotor can rotate due to the drag.
In this study rotor savonius type-L were subjected to a blade overlap 0 mm,
35 mm and 70 mm and the addition of steering winds
From the test results obtained, a maximum torque of 0.19 Nm at overlap 0
mm, while the maximum angular speed of 14.33 rpm in an overlap of 70 mm (addition of fin).
