HUBUNGAN PELAKSANAAN TEKNIK ASEPTIK DALAM PEMASANGAN INFUS DENGAN KEJADIAN PLEBITIS DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM KALIWATES PT. ROLAS NUSANTARA MEDIKA JEMBER
Abstract
Intravenous fluid infusion is the administration of some fluid into the body to replace fluid loss or food substances from the body. Phlebitis is one of complications of intravenous fluid infusion. The most common causes of phlebitis were catheter size mismatch with venous selection, fluid type (ph and osmolality), lack of aseptic technique, and long cannulation time. The purpose of this research was to analys the correlation of aseptic technique in intravenous fluid infusion with incident of phlebitis at Rumah Sakit Umum Kaliwates PT. Rolas Nusantara Medika Jember. The independent variable in this researh was the implementation of aseptic technique in intravenous fluid infusion and the dependent variable was phlebitis occurrence. The research design used in this research was observational analytic with cohort approach. Collecting sampel using purposive sampling technique was 35 respondence. Data analysis used in this study was Spearman’s rho. The Result showed that the implementation of aseptic technique in intravenous fluid infusion was found that the patient who had done the aseptic technique was 5.7% and did not perform 94.3%. Patients with plebitis were 13 people (37.1%), while patients who did not experience plebitis were 22 people (62.9%). Test result statistics showed that p value 0,276 ≥ α (0,05). Statistically means there were not significant correlation between aseptic technique in intravenous fluid infusion with incident of phlebitis because there were others factors that cause phlebitis likes age, nutritional status, stress, venous condition and the disease factors. As a nurse we must keep using aseptic techniques in intravenous fluid infusion.
