IMPROVING READING COMPREHENSION ACHIEVEMENT ON GRADE X STUDENTS OF AGRIBISNIS TERNAK RUMINANSIA BY USING ONE MINUTE PAPER TECHNIQUE AT SMKN 1 SUKORAMBI JEMBER
Abstract
The use of One Minute Paper technique in teaching reading comprehension
could make the students improve their ability in finding both the general information
of the text and the specific information of the text.
The use of One Minute Paper technique improved not only reading
comprehension achievement but also the students’ active participation in the class.
The improvement of reading comprehension achievement could be seen from the
mean score of the students reading achievement test increased from 67.03 in Cycle 1
to 75.5 in Cycle 2. The percentage of the students who got scores ≥ 71 in Cycle 1 was
60.6 % of the total students while in the Cycle 2 the percentage improved to 72.7 %.
Thus, the criterion percentage required 65 % of the research subjects who got ≥ 71
was fulfilled.
The improvement of the students’ active participation was shown from the
results of the observation in Cycle 1, there were two indicators
