IMPROVING VII-F GRADE STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AND THEIR PARTICIPATION BY USING GUESSING GAME WITH PICTURES AT MTs ROUDLATUT THOLIBIN, PROBOLINGGO.
Abstract
This classroom action research was intended to improve class VII-F students’
vocabulary achievement and their active participation by using guessing game with
pictures at MTs Roudlatut Tholibin. From the interview with the English teacher, it
was known that most of the VII grade students in that school had problems in
learning vocabulary and memorizing the meanings of the words, especially in class
VII-F. The average score of class VII-F was 56 while the passing grade of English in
the school is 72. The teacher said that the students tended to be passive to respond the
teacher’s questions.
