Design Of Portable Solar Charger Based Arduino UNO; Arobin Jaka Mahendra; 1119102036; 2016: 54 pages; The Study of Engineering Bachelor Programme (S1), Department Of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering, Jember University. The development of modern electronic tool like gadgets that support telecommunications has changed the lifestyle of the community for the better. However, there are limitations to the energy in the device which makes an important problem to the users. The solar panel is one of the appropriate energy to overcome the problem. In this system there is 20 wp solar panels used to charge the battery by converting sun’s rays into electricity and there are control devices Arduino UNO which is used to generate a pulse wave that triggered the IRFP460 MOSFET in DCDC converters that is used in the system. The resulting voltage by the solar panels amount of +19.3 V derived using buck converter becomes +13.9 V with a maximum charging current of 0.97 A to charge the battery back-up 12 V for +4 hours. Then the back-up battery voltage 12 V was lowered again with buck converter to 4.96 V with a current of 0.5 A for charging mobile phones. On the other hand there is a boost converter is used to raise the voltage of the battery back-up becomes 19.96 V with a current of 2 A for charging laptop battery. On the change of load, duty cycle value that is used according to the determination of the desired voltage load, to reduce ripple in the output converter used a series L and C as an LC filter so that the output waveform obtained better.en_US
