PENGARUH TERAPI PSIKOEDUKASI TERHADAP INTENSI MELAKUKAN OPERASI KATARAK PADA PASIEN KATARAK DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS JELBUK KABUPATEN JEMBER

Abstract

Intention was required by cataract patients to do cataract surgery. One of the intervention that can increase intention to perform cataract surgery is psycoeducation therapy. This research aimed to analyze the effect of psycoeducation theraphy to intention for doing cataract surgery on cataract patients in public health center Jelbuk Jember. This research used preexperimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The subjects of this study were cataract patients who have cataract surgery in Public Health Center Jelbuk Jember. This research used total sampling that consist of 16 people. The instrument used an intention questionnaire. The result showed that psycoeducation theraphy had an effect to the intention for doing cataract surgery of cataract patients in public health center Jelbuk Jember, based on a statistical Wilcoxon test with CI=95% showed that p value=0.034 is significant ( significant p value<α=0.05). Psychoeducation can touch all of problem on cataract patiens like, scared, unknown and financial proplem. Psychoeducation therapy can be applied as a nursing intervention in patients with cataract who lack the intention of cataracts.
