dc.description.abstract | Agreement made by Russia and Iran in 1995 contains Russia 's ability to help Iran to
build a nuclear reactor. The aid included relief materials, support tools, and training
and giving knowledge to people about Iran’s nuclear program. However, the program
was not running smoothly due to the many criticisms of the policies issued by Russia.
United States, United Nations, and the IAEA still did not fully believe that Iran
developed nuclear balance of power; the United States sought to stop the assistance
provided by Russia with the pretext of preventing nuclear proliferation . Nevertheless,
it did not stop Russia to continue to assist in the construction of Iran’s nuclear. The
results showed that Russia was helping Iran's nuclear development program due to its
interests in the field of economy to meet export commodities of oil, gas and Russian
military weapons to Iran. Russia's political interests that gained alliances in the
Middle East and security interests are to build a regional power in the Middle East.
The existence of interests made Russia establish good relations with Iran. It is
reiterated that the relationship with other countries (in this case of Russia) still highly
concerns the importance of the role of the country's national interests. | en_US |
