dc.description.abstractThis article writing aims to describe the efforts of build up orphans independence through culinary training by Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (MEC) at Yatim Mandiri Foundation. This article is a qualitative research. The subjects of the research was the agency of MEC, which indirectly knows the effort of building up the orphan independence. The results showed that that PUSDIKLAT Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (MEC) in realizing the orphan independence through culinary training was carried out by several stages in accordance with a predetermined plan together. These stages included: planning, socialization, recruitment, academic development, employment and evaluation. The whole stages could establish a training model that is able to assist individuals in improving self-potential and to be capable of independence, especially in building their independence in an effort to empower their lives in the midst of tight job competitions. In addition, culinary training conducted at MEC institution is able to be an alternative for the poor community, especially orphans, in access to education to improve the quality of human resources, so that they are powerful in public lifeen_US
