The purpose of this research was to create a stand density map based on land cover map using Quantum-GIS software and to carry out a ground-check on density and vegetative variations in Baluran National Park. The research stages consisted of mapping of land cover, field data collection using line square intercept sampling method, and data analysis using the formula of stand density. Based on the mapping and analysis it was found that the largest population of the biggest tree level catagory was in the mangrove ecosystem area (580 plants/ha). The largest population of the biggest pole level catagory was in the acacia ecosystem area (1.680 plants/ha), and the acacia was dominancy the vegetation in Baluran National Park. The largest population of the biggest sapling level catagory was in the primary forest region (1.280 plants/ha). The largest population of the biggest seedling level catagory was in the scrubland ecosistem area (5.240.000 plants/ha).en_US
