dc.description.abstract | One of the work environment which affect caring practice is a leadership.
Leadership style means how the leader style can affect his subordinate to reach a
certain purpose. The purpose of this research was to analyze the correlation
between the leadership style of head nurse and implementation of nurse caring
practice in inpatient wards of RSU Kaliwates PT Rolas Nusantara Medika
Jember. The research design used analytical observational with cross sectional
approach. There were 35 respondents as sample. Data analysis used was chi
square test. Related to the variable of the leadership style of head nurse by using
univariat analysis shown that the most dominant style is democratic leadership
(51,7%) with the implementation of practice in less caring as many as 51,4%. The
research result show that there is no significance correlation between the
leadership style of head nurse and implementation of caring practice (p value:
0,296). It was caused by some factors which affect the implementation of caring
practice. They are cognitive, structural organization, cultural organization,
practice control, and nurse workload. The suggestions are to maintain the
leadership style which has been applied according to the situation in organization
and improve the implementation of nurse caring practice by socialization,
supervision and do some programs to refresh the nurse while implemented the
caring practice. | en_US |
