PENINGKATAN PERAN DAN KAPASITAS MASYARAKAT DALAM HUBUNGANNYA DENGAN PENURUNAN RESIKO BENCANA DI KABUPATEN JEMBER

Abstract

Jember is one of the districts with relatively rapid progress of agriculture in the province of East Java . The rapid development of this agricultural town and no doubt a consequence of the expansion of land conversion into cultivated land . Expansion of land in upland areas carries the consequence on land degradation and increased potential disasters such as erosion , landslides and flash floods . This devotion is intended to provide technology transfer , awareness raising , public awareness of disaster risk reduction and community capacity building in the event of a disaster . Community service performed for eight months with a model lecture , discussion and mentoring . Increased knowledge and discussions are expected to enhance the local community will be aware kapasiitas disaster so that the level of dependence on the government can be derived . Outputs from this activity is an increase in the capacity of communities to deal with disasters and a short film about the flood disaster .
