Abstract
Usages of orthodontic appliance to correct malocclusion entange alveolar bone remodeling process. The process stimaulated to use mechanical force that got from activation of orthodontic aplliance components that is used to depress periodontal tissue, including alveolar bone. Adequate force will yield appropriate resorption at pressure area. This research aim to express change of alveolar bone structure resulted by dofferent mechanical force induction at orthodontic tooth movement. Guinea pig divided to become control and treatment group. Control group without usage of orthodontic appliance , while treatment group given by mechanicak force 90,120, and 150 gram, time usage of orthodontic appliance 5 and 10 day. The resorption area at pressure area presenting alveolar bone structure measured from histological data. Measurement of resorption area amount indicates that 120 and 150 gram group on usage time 5 and 10 group have larger value and different significally to be compared to control value. The 120 gram group has biggest value. This matter indicates that adequate force can induce alveolar bone resorption by osteoclas maximally.
