Perbandingan Penggunaan Dental Floss dan Dental Tape terhadap Pembersihan Plak Interproksimal

Abstract

Periodontal disease was the common disease in the society. Periodontal diseases etiology is plaque bacteria. It was known that by use of ordinary toothbrush therefore plaque at interproksimal region uncleanable perfectly, therefore has been developed interproksimal cleaning tool such as dental floss and dental tape. This study evaluated dental floss purpose compare and dental tape to cleansing of interproksimal plaque. 15 persons were selected by purpossive's sampling based on criterion already be determined. Interproksimal plaque index examination used distal mesial plaque index (DMPI) modification Navy plaque index on 6 tooth accords Ramjford rules. The result of this study showed significant differences on each dental floss purpose and dental tape to cleansing of interproksimal plaque (p<0,05). The t-test showed the significant differences between the decrease interprokimal plaque (P) among purpose dental floss and dental tape (p<0,05). It was concluded that on each dental floss and dental tape can clear interproksimal plaque and dental tape is more effective clear interproksimal plaque than dental floss
