PENGARUH RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF TERHADAP TINGKAT INSOMNIA PADA PASIEN RAWAT JALAN DENGAN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIK (GGK) YANG MENJALANI HEMODIALISIS DI RUANG HEMODIALISA RSUD dr. ABDOER RAHEM SITUBONDO
Abstract
Insomnia is a sleep disorder that more commonly happens to CRF patients
undergoing hemodialysis. Progressive muscle relaxation is one of
nonpharmacological therapies used to reduce muscle tension and anxiety. This
research aimed to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on insomnia
level in outpatients with CRF undergoing hemodialysis. The research used quasiexperimental
research design with non-randomized control group pretest-posttest
design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling involving 10
respondents divided into 5 respondents for intervention group and 5 respondents
for control group. Data were collected using the observation sheet in the form of
Insomnia Rating Scale (IRS) developed by Kelompok Studi Psikiatri Biologik
Jakarta (KSPBJ). Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test and
Mann-Whitney U Test with significance level of 95%. The research results showed
that p-value of Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test was 0,034 in the intervention group
and 0,157 in the control group, while the p-value of Mann-Whitney U Test was
0,042 (p < α; α = 0,05). The conclusion from this research is that there is an
effect of progressive muscle relaxation on insomnia level in outpatients with CRF
undergoing hemodialysis in hemodialysis unit of dr. Abdoer Rahem Hospital
Situbondo. It is recommended that nurse be able to provide progressive muscle
relaxation in nursing care of hemodialysis patients to improve the quality of
patients’ sleep.
