dc.description.abstractLeadership style is a norm of behavior used by a person when he is trying to influence others’ behaviors. Leadership style is suitable if the company goals have been communicated and the employees have accepted them. A leader must apply leadership style to manage employees because he will greatly affect the success of the organization in achieving its objectives. The leader listen to ideas from the employees before making a decision. The appropriate leadership style will lead to one's motivation to achieve. Success or failure in the performance of employees may be affected by the manager’s leadership style. This research aimed to describe the leadership style in improving the performance of employees at PT. BPR Ambulu Danaartha Rambipuji branch-Jember. The research used key informants in total of 15 (fifteen) i.e. Branch Manager, Credit Unit, Account Officer, Cashier, Savings/Deposit Unit, Installment Unit, SID (Debtor Information Systems) Unit, Bookkeeping Unit, Process Unit, Driver and Cleaning Service. The data analyses used were domain analysis and taxonomic analysis. The determination of the leadership style of branch manager of PT. BPR Ambulu Danartha Rambipuji branch- Jember was based on several aspects used such as decision making, job monitoring and communication between manager and employees, and the employee's performance can be seen from the quantity of work, quality of work and timeliness in work completion. The overall results of the data analysis associated with Prescriptive Curve of Situational Leadership Style of Hersey and Blanchard showed that the leadership style of Branch Manager of PT. BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Rambipuji branch-Jember was in the position of Style 3 (S3) which involved employees. Furthermore, the performance of employees associated with the level of maturity was in Prescriptive Curve of Hersey and Blanchard's Situational Leadership. It can be concluded that the maturity level of the employees of PT. BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Rambipuji branch-Jember was at the level of R3 which is in a state of fair to high.en_US
