DUKUNGAN TEMAN SEBAYA PADAREMAJA TUNANETRA DI SLB-A TPA BINTORO KELURAHAN BINTORO KECAMATAN PATRANGKABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Visual impairment adolescents find it difficult to initiate and maintain interactions with peers, so they have little social support source. Whereas, adolescents have developmental tasks that must be completed, so they need peer support. This research was intended to obtain a description of peer support for visual impairment adolescents at SLB-A Bintoro. This research used qualitative descriptive phenomenological study design. Sampling technique with purposive sampling. This research involved six informants. Data collecting instruments use in-depth interview and field notes. Data analysis technique use Colaizzi’s Analysis. The results of this research found 13 research themes. Dimensions of social networking of visual impairment adolescents identified seven themes, that is measuremen, functions, composition, stability, perceived support, reciprocity, and intimacy. The forms of peer support obtained by visual impairment adolescents identified five research themes, that is, social networking, appreciating, information, emotional, and instrumental. The expectation of visual impairment adolescents toward peer support identified one research theme, that is, a component of hope. So, peers support for visual impairment adolescents were identified thirtteen themes. The research recommendation for SLB-A Bintoro that is to propose extracurricular activities to the foundation comprising students in the one foundation is based on desire and talent of the students.
