dc.description.abstract | Nursing documentation is the nurse activity that it does after nursing care. This
condition can influence nurse’s time to construct nurse-patient interpersonal
relationship. This research was intended to analyse the relationship of
implementation of nursing documentation and the achievement of phase of nursepatient
interpersonal relationship based on Peplau’s theory in Balung Hospital.
This research applied observational analytic method with cross-sectional
approach and the sample consisted of 55 respondents and 55 nursing
documentations. Sampling technique used purposive sampling. Based on the
research result was 3,6% of complete nursing documentation and good
interpersonal relationship, 43,6% out of 96,4% of complete nursing
documentation was good interpersonal relationship, and 52,7% out of 96,4% of
complete nursing documentation was bad interpersonal relationship. Results of
statistical analysis showed that the p- value is 0.219 (α = 0.05), which indicates
there was not relationship of implementation of nursing documentation and the
achievement of phase of nurse-patient interpersonal relationship based on
Peplau’s theory in Balung Hospital. The results of observations assumed that the
format of nursing documentation and motivation of nurses were factors that
affected implementation of nursing documentation. Hospital need to improve the
management system through supervision of nurse manager. The lack of effective
communication, empathy, emotional awareness, and attitudes of nurses were
factors that affected nurse-patient interpersonal relationships Nurses should do
self performance evaluation to improve interpersonal relationships with patients. | en_US |
