DUKUNGAN SOSIAL KELUARGA PADA IBU RUMAH TANGGA (IRT) PENGIDAP HIV/AIDS DI KABUPATEN JEMBER

Abstract

Number of human with HIV/AIDS in Jember district raises rapidly every year. Based on report of AIDS Management Board in Jember district, the highest distribution of human with HIV/AIDS until October 2013 is group of housewife that amounts to 256 people. The existence of human with HIV/AIDS in daily life has many social issues. An increase in HIV transmission on housewife, then the greater the tendency of HIV transmission in infants born of mothers who are HIV positive. Social support is one of ways to help their depresive feeling in order not to build negative influence in their health aspect. This research aims to figure out social support to housewife with HIV/AIDS in Jember district. This research is applied by descriptive research method and qualitative approach. The data is collected by in-depth interview used interview guide about social support that consists of emotional, informative, appreciative and instrumental support. Informants of this research are adjusted by snowball technique with a total of six informants. The result of this research shows that housewife with HIV/AIDS getting all of kind of social support. Their family give emotional support by caring, supporting to move up and feeling empathy. Appreciative support is shown by giving respect to informants as human with HIV/AIDS. Instrumental support is shown by giving goods for their life. But family does not give information to housewife with HIV/AIDS comprehensively that it is caused by the lackness of family knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
