dc.description.abstract | IDD (Iodine Deficiency Disorder) is a serious problem for society, one effect is to
influence children's learning abilities such as low IQ. Enlarged thyroid gland
consists of grade IA, IB, II, and III. But often encountered in primary school age
children is enlargement of grade IA and IB. SDN Darsono is an area in the
district who have TGR (Total Goiter Rate) 57,1% and classified as heavy
endemitas. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference Intellegence
Quotient (IQ) in goiter grade IA and IB in primary school students aged 9-10
years old at the SDN Darsono I, II, and III District Arjasa Jember Regency. This
study used an observational analytic design with cross sectional method. Technics
sample using stratified random sampling technique, in order to obtain the number
of samples were 63, with 39 samples for grade IA, and 24 samples for grade IB.
IQ measurement and analysis of data using the CFIT (Culture Fair Intelligence
Test) this empirically using Independent T-Test with an alpha of 0,05. The
manifestation of this result is p value less than 0,05 (p<0,05). This research
obtains the result that there are IQ differences between grade IA and IB, with the
