HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN TINGKAT DEPRESI PENDERITA STROKE DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS AMBULU KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Stroke is a sudden injury to the brain blood vessels causing a lot of impacts, one
of that is depression. Depression is an emotional disorder that is often found in
stroke patient. One of the interventions that can be given to overcome this
problem is the support of the family. This research was to investigate the
relationship between family supports and depression level of stroke patients. This
is a corelation research study with cross sectional approach. The sampling
technique used in this research was a purposive sampling with total sample of 38
patients with stroke. The analysis used in this research was Rank Spearman
correlation test. Knowed that the results (P value= 0.0005; α=0.05) which means
that there was significant correlation between family supports and depression
level of stroke patients. Rank Spearman correlation value (r) in this research is r
= -0.636, this means the negative correlation with the strength of correlation is
strong. The conclusion is that the higher the support of the family, the lower the
level of depression in stroke patients. The suggestion from this research is family
support important to increase the optimism of the patients in facing present life
and future, and they will be able to meet their psychological needs.
