PERAN PERAWAT DALAM UPAYA PENINGKATAN KEPERAWATAN KESEHATAN KERJA DI WILAYAH PELAYANAN PUSKESMAS PAKUSARI JEMBER

Abstract

Occupational Health Nursing is one of the services that is given to keep workers healthy. But in fact, this kind of services has not been performed well in several region. In Pakusari, Jember Regency, East Java province, the writer has observed the progress of Occupational Heath Nursing program which is held in Pakusari’s Community Health Center. The purpose of the study was to determine the significance and meaning of the nurse's role in improving public health nursing workers in the area of health center services Pakusari Jember. Pakusari’s Community Health Center used this program to all workers in Pakusari Jember. Pakusari’s Community Health Center used their professional nurses to run this program. This research used snowball sampling and Colaizzi’s method analysis. The result indicates two themes for the description of nurse in occupational health program, namely the definition of occupational health and an overview of the health benefits of work. Nurse's role in occupational health program consists of two themes, namely health educator and clinician. Expectations in the occupational health nurse points out two themes, namely enhancement of health workers and increased support. From the investigation, the author can conclude that not all of the role of nurses have been conducted for occupational health programs. It happen because of the lack of health workers in Pakusari’s Community Health Center.
