PENCEGAHAN OSTEOPOROSIS PADA WANITA USIA 55-69 TAHUN DI KECAMATAN PUGER KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Osteoporosis is a common health problem in the elderly. Although osteoporosis can
also attack men, but in women aged 50 years and older the process of bone loss
occurs sooner. One cause of the high risk of osteoporosis in Indonesia is increasing
life expectancy society in 2005 was 67.68 years, but the level of public knowledge
about how to prevent osteoporosis remains low. The purpose of this study was to
analyze the prevention of osteoporosis in women aged 55-69 years in the Sub-District
Puger Jember Regency. This study is an type of observational analytic study with
cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 75 female
respondents aged 55-69 years who attend the elderly health program in the subdistrict
Puger of Jember Regency. The data obtained are presented in tabular form
and analyzed using logistic regression with a level of 5%. The results showed that
12% of respondents are suspected osteoporosis, 60 respondents (80%) have a
sufficient level of knowledge, 71 respondents (94.7%) were in the category of positive
attitude, 34 respondents (45.3%) take precautions in category good, there is a
significant relationship between precaution with suspected osteoporosis and the most
dominant of precaution which associated with suspected osteoporosis is a
consumption of coffe. this research are expected to the elderly, especially women who
are more at risk of osteoporosis for check up their health to the local health services
as a form of early detection of osteoporosis.
