PENGGUNAAN POTASSIUM SIANIDA, KELUHAN PERNAPASAN, DAN GANGGUAN FAAL PARU PADA PEKERJA ELECTROPLATING PERAK DI PT. X SIDOARJO
Abstract
PT. X is the metal plating industry companies that have high chemical potential
dangers. It is caused by the use of potassium cyanide in electroplating process that
causing workers have respiratory symptom. This research aimed to explaining of the
use of potassium cyanide and respiratory function symptom of silver electroplating
workers at PT. X. This research used descriptive method with survey and
observational quantitatively. Population studies performed on the 16th worker
electroplating parts that were directly exposed to cyanide gas. Sampling method was
use total sampling or saturated samples. The informant in this study was use a
purposive sampling method. Data collection was use the questionnaire, check list,
pulmonary function test that use the spirometry and in-depth interviews. Data were
analyze descriptive analysis and frequency. Presentation of data was use crosstabulations
data and description of the interviews results. The results showed that
subjective respiratory symptom are often experienced by the respondents was cough
100% and dyspnea 93,75%. While the lung function test results showed the average
value of prediction of FVC 33,94% that was include category of medium restriction,
and the average value of FEV1 prediction 24,91% that was include category of
severe obstruction. The conclusion that all workers at the electroplating which
become respondents research having a mixed pulmonary function disorder.
