ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG DIPERTIMBANGKAN KONSUMEN TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN BELAJAR DI JURUSAN INFORMATIKA POLITEKNIK NEGERI JEMBER
Abstract
This study aimed at identifying the factors affecting the consumers’ decisions to
enroll at the Department of Information Technology of the State polytechnic of Jember.
The population of this study were the students of the Department from the academic year
of 2003/2008, 2008/2009, and 2009/2010. The total sample of the study were 145 students.
The sampling technique which was used to take the sample was stratified random
sampling. The data collected were then analyzed by using Factor Analysis. The study
involved 29 variables, however, after conducting factor analysis, only 8 new variables
were found to represent all those variables. These new variables were selected based on
their eigenvalues. Only factors with eigenvalue 1 or higher were considered valid, whereas,
the factors with eigenvalue less than 1 was categorized as not valid. These valid factors
were those affecting the decisions of respondents in enrolling at the Department of
Information Technology of the State Polytechnic of Jember. Those factors consisted of:
location, academic, process, supports, promotion, price, perception, product. The study
contributed a percentage of cumulative variance percentage as much as 64.335%, meaning
that those factors could explain the variables affecting the decisions of the respondents to
study at the Department of Information Technology of the State Polytechnic of Jember.
The rest 35.665% of cumulative variance was, thus, explained by other variables.
