using of PPE with possible risk of URTI to the farmers in the farmer's population
at Jember Regency on Tanggul Subdistrict. This research is designed with an
Observational Analytic using cross-sectional approach. The population of this
research is 11.259 and for 41 respondents are used as sample. The result shows a
correlation between the usage of Personal Protective Equipment with cases of
Upper Respiratory Tract Infection is relatively different, that is 32 (94.1%) for
those who aren’t infected by URTI and 1 (14.3%) for the infected one. Then the
total for the farmers who use PPE is 33 while for those who doesn’t and
uninfected by URTI is 2 (5.9%) and the infected is 6 (85.7%). So, there are 8
farmers who don’t use PPE, means that the more farmers use personal protective
equipment, then the rate of who is infected by URTI in the farmer's population at
Jember Regency on Tanggul Subdistrict will be the less. The data is analyzed by
using chi-square with 5% of alpha, and p value = 0.007. the conclusion from this
research is an illustration of PPE usage, that is, nasal mask is used by most of
farmers. It could be seen from amount of the infected farmer is 7 (17.1%). Odd
