dc.description.abstractHypertension in a condition when the blood-pressure more than or equal to 140 mmHg for systolic pressure or 90 mmHg for diastolic pressure. Besides leading to organ problems, hypertension can also cause mental problems such as depression. This study aimed to determine the correlation of duration in suffering hypertension with the grade of depression. This study takes a quantitative correlational method with cross sectional study. Technique of taking samples is a quota sampling method using survey method with questionnaire. We were using 30 samples diagnosed with hypertension who received treatment in Poli Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit dr. Soebandi. Statistical analysis using Spearman Rho with p≤0.05. The result of this study shows that some patients were suffering hypertension since 1-5 years and some patients don’t get depression. From this study, we concluded that the longer duration patients get hypertension the lower depression they get or even don’t get depression symptoms at all.en_US
