dc.description.abstract | Snacks have become a part that cannot be separated from public life, especially
elementary school children. If the snack of the selected children was lacking of
nutritional value and lacking of cleanliness maintained, and the presence of harmful
food additives, it will cause adverse health effects which will affect the nutritional
status of elementary school children. This research was intended to analyze the
correlation between snack consumption with nutritional status of elementary school
children in SDN 1 Wirolegi Jember Regency. This research applied analytic
observational study by cross sectional approach. The population in this research was
all children in SDN Wirolegi 1 Jember Regency, in academic year 2010-2011. The
samples used were elementary school children of grades III to VI, totaling 147
children. The sampling was carried out by using proportional stratified random
sampling technique. Bivariate analysis used was Spearman Statistical test and
Lambda Statistic L
test, with α = 0,05. The results showed that there was correlation
between the consumption level of protein (p = 0,000) and fat (0,000), the contribution
energy (p = 0,000) and protein (p = 0,040) of snack, and consumption pattern of
meatball (p = 0,007); biskuat milk (p = 0,041); cilok (p=0,018); kiko ice (p=0,019),
stick noodles (p=0,002), noodles (p=0,018), fried rice (p=0,044), biscuit bisvit (p =
0,046); sweets (p = 0,034); biscuits better (p = 0,034); intestine satay (p=0,041);
sausage sozzis (p = 0,046); jas jus (p = 0,027); top ice (0,001); marimas (p = 0,038);
snack upin ipin (p=0,041); snack boboho (p=0,047); pop drinks (p= 0,036); and
fruitamin (p=0,049); with the nutritional status of elementary school children. Based
on the results of this research, it is expected that school has canteen that provide
safety, healthy and nutritious of snack. Thus, the nutritional needs of children in
school can be served and the health is always maintained. | en_US |
