dc.description.abstract | Drawing upon mainly only secondary historical sources, this article discusses strike and protest actions breaking out among the factory workers in Chicago. It is concluded that the actions closely related to the socialist movement in Chicago, the rising socio-economic pressures stemming from the depression and exploitative practices. The failure of the actions led to the establishment of the more organized United States Workers Federation. | en_US |
