NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is one of the types of Cooperative Learning which the implementation includes the classification in giving-number system to each member of the groups. Meanwhile, the student who have an obligation to give a presentation based on the results of their work is the student who his/her number matches with the number that is mentioned randomly by the teacher. Mind Mapping is a technique in creatively taking notes which literally can be mapping the thoughts. This research implemented Cooperative Learning in the type of NHT with Mind Mapping technique. The purpose of this research was to investigate whether or not there was a different result of student’ achievement and the result of the motivation level (to get better) between the use of Cooperative Learning in the type of NHT with Mind Mapping technique and the use of conventional technique (lecturing method) which was implemented in the school, and the relation between the motivation level and the result of students’ achievement. The design of this research used randomized subjects post-test only control group design. The population in this research was the entire of the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Prajekan in the 2012/2013 academic year. Then the respondents was determined by using cluster random sampling which was firstly examined the level of their homogeneity. The data of this research were collected from the post-test, the result of the quisionnaire, and the result of the interview. Based on the result of the data analisys, it could be concluded that the final values were: (1) t test > t (1,84 > 1,67) which means that the result of the students’ achievement by using Cooperative Learning in the type of NHT with Mind Mapping technique was higher than using the conventional technique; (2) The level of students’ motivation in study by using Cooperative Learning in the type NHT with Mind Mapping technique (82,69%) was higher than by using conventional technique (73,15%); (3) There was a positive relation between the students motivation in study and the result of the students’ achievement.
