HUBUNGAN PERILAKU IBU DALAM PEMBERIAN MAKANAN BERGIZI DENGAN STATUS GIZI ANAK USIA 1-3 TAHUN DI DESA CUMEDAK KECAMATAN SUMBERJAMBE KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
The low nutritional status in children can occur because the amount and quality
of food consumed by children are not in accordance with the needs of the body.
One of the indirect causes that can affect the nutritional status of children is the
mother behavior in providing nutritious food for children. The effort that can be
taken to overcome malnutrition is providing nutritionally balanced meals that suit
the needs of children. The objective of this research was to determine the
correlation between mother’s behavior in providing nutritious food and
nutritional status of children aged 1-3 in Cumedak Village, District of
Suberjambe, Jember district. The type of research of this study was Correlational
Research with Cross Sectional approach. Sampling technique used Nonprobability
Purposive sampling with total sample of 91 respondents. Based on
Spearman rank correlation test, it was found that there was a correlation between
mother’s behavior in providing nutritious food and nutritional status of children
aged 1-3 in Cumedak Village, District of Sumberjambe, Jember Regency with
gained p-value of 0,000, p value<α (α=0,05). Spearman rank correlation value
(r) in this research was 0,601. Direction of contingency coefficient showed a
positive value (+) with a strong correlation. Thus, it can be interpreted that the
greater the value of variables, the greater the value of other variables. So, better
the behavior of mother in providing nutritious food, the better the nutritional
status of children aged 1-3.
