    Abstract
    Cough is a symptom or respiratory disorders. This situation is a way of the body's immune to secrete mucus and foreign subtances from the the respiratory tract (Yunus, 1993). Cough is mostly suffered by the children, because of that the drugs given are mostly in powder form. In its procurement, pharmacists should be able to guarantee the availability of drugs, drug safety and drug effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to determine how the prescription profile of cough powder form medicines at poly child outpatient installation on dr. Soebandi hospital Jember district. This study used a retrospective descriptive analysis method, the sampling done by simple random sampling and obtained 111 samples. Results, the percentage of prescription of cough medicine powder was 30% compared to other forms of cough medicine, cough medicine powder containing one type of drug was 71.17% and cough medicines powder containing cough medicine combination was 28.82%, cough medicine powder containing antitussive-expectorant combination was 14.28%, antitussive-mucolytic was 42.86%, ekpektoran-mukolitik combination was 42.86%, and antitussive-expectorant-mucolytic combination was 0%, percentage of the biggest number of packs of cough medicine powder was 11-15 packs that was 61.26%, the percentage of cough medicine powder that use antibiotics was 72.97% and cough medicine that do not use antibiotic powder was 27.03%, the percentage of cough medicine powder blended together with antibiotics was 45.68% and the percentage of cough medicine powders formulated separately with antibiotics was 54, 32%, the percentage of cough medicine powder without antibiotics that includes rules of pro re nata was 3.33% and that does not include pro re nata 96.67%. Based on these results Pharmacists need to provide information related to how to use antibiotics that are prescribed along with cough medicine powder, how it is stored, how long cough medicine powder should be stored and it should be aware of the possibility of drug interactions
