dc.description.abstract | Leprosy is an acute disease which is caused by leprosy bacteria (Mycobacterium
leprae) which attacks periphery nerve, skin, and the other body tissue. Wound is
the high risk for leprosy victims in conjunction with the loosing of sensitive
sensation because of the function of nerve is broken. Care and handling the
wounds use honey. Honey has functions as antibacterial, antiinflame, stimulant,
and heal the wound quickly. The aim of this research is to know the influence of
using honey in wound care of the leprosy clients. This research uses preexperiment
study
with
pre-test
and
post-test
group
design
methods.
This
research
is
done in working area of Jenggawah public health center in Jember with
purposive sampling taken sample technique is 7 clients. The Instruments which is
used in this research is wound observation format of Barbara Bates-Jansen. The
result of this research is analyzed by Dependent t-test. Then, it obtains 0.001
significance value. In summary, the using honey in wound care has a big deal
towards wound healing of leprosy clients (p value< 0.05). According to this
research, it is expected that this using honey in wound care could be a
comparison of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with the previous
procedures for a better handling of leprosy wound healing. | en_US |
