dc.description.abstractThe International setting changes after the Cold War has brought new trends that can pose threat on Japan national security. These trends include China military capability development, and North Korea nuclear proliferation. United States had been supporting Japan in terms of its security also encourage Japan to make decision of revising National Defense Program Guideline (NDPG). The NDPG allows Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) to participate in international operations and as being the defense of the homeland. From the Japanese perspective , the revision of the NDPG was based on some reasons. First, the increase of China military power and the second is North Korea nuclear threat. Both are perceived to be direct threat on Japan security.en_US
