dc.description.abstract | The International setting changes after the Cold War has brought new trends that
can pose threat on Japan national security. These trends include China military
capability development, and North Korea nuclear proliferation. United States had
been supporting Japan in terms of its security also encourage Japan to make decision
of revising National Defense Program Guideline (NDPG). The NDPG allows Japan
Self Defense Force (JSDF) to participate in international operations and as being the
defense of the homeland. From the Japanese perspective , the revision of the NDPG
was based on some reasons. First, the increase of China military power and the
second is North Korea nuclear threat. Both are perceived to be direct threat on Japan
security. | en_US |
