PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN OLEH KADER TERHADAP PRAKTEK IBU DALAM PEMBERIAN MP-ASI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS LEDOKOMBO KABUPATEN JEMBER

Abstract

Growth and development disorder in infants is caused of ineffectiveness in the giving of substitution breastfeeding “Makanan Pendamping ASI” (MP-ASI). Ineffectiveness in the giving of MP-ASI is caused by the improper behavior of MP-ASI giving. The role of volunteer in carrying out his duty as provider of health education on the fourth table in health service integrated center “Posyandu” have a major effect on behavioral changes in society. The changes of behavior can be seen from the changes of the behavior’s components such as knowledge, attitude and practice. The goal of this research was to analyze the effect of health education by the volunteer against the practice of mothers in giving of MP-ASI. The design of this research was Pre Experimental with One Group Pretest-posttest. The respondents of this research were 33 mothers who had infant aged 6-24 months. The results of measurement data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there was a influence of health education by volunteer to the practice of mothers in the giving of MP-ASI with p value = 0,011. The advice from researcher is to increase the regular volunteer training program aimed by improved skill and motivation of volunteer in the carrying out of the posyandu programs.
