HUBUNGAN INTENSITAS KEBISINGAN DAN PERILAKU PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG TELINGA (APT) DENGAN KELUHAN SUBYEKTIF NON-AUDITORY EFFECT PADA TENAGA KERJA DI DEPARTEMEN PRODUKSI PT. X
Abstract
Noise in the workplace is the most common hazards due to the replacement of human
labor by machine so that the risk of worker exposure to noise totally high. Noise that
exceeds the Threshold Limit Value was received by the workforce can lead to various
health problems. The production process in PT.X generates noise which results in
impaired communication workers because the workers must shouting or repeating the
words. The purpose of this research was to determined the relationship between noise
intensity, knowledge, attitudes, and actions of Ear Protective Equipment using with
subjective non-auditory symptom of noise effects on labor in the production
department of PT. X. This research was a cross-sectional research. The research
population was all employees in production department of PT. X. The sample of this
research was 51 respondents with cluster sampling technique. The research results
was showed the noise intensity (ρ = 0.012) and the use of ear protective equipment (ρ
= 0.03) had a significant relationship with subjective non-auditory symptoms of noise
effect, while the knowledge of ear protective equipment (ρ = 0.232) and attitude of
the ear protective equipment (ρ = 0.436) did not have a significant relationship with
subjective non-auditory symptom of noise effects. PT X was suggested to conduct
policy on the use of ear protective equipment at work and socialize in the labor as
well as to supervise and impose sanctions to increase the use of ear protective
equipment.
